fried alligator with a side of texas
so i got to iquitos after a super boring 9 hours in lima´s airport. its a loud cute little city. at the airport, there was a muscial welcome. i met up with some argentines and we´re traveling together for a little. we went to dinner at this texas bbq place run by a guy from texas. the waitresses wear UT chearleading uniforms and there are orange and white longhorns all over the walls. the barstools were horse saddles. he gave us tourist info because he used to work in tourism here. then we ate there. i had fried alligator. yes, alligator. it kind of tasted like chicken. it came with fried banana and yuca which is a cousin of the potato. today i´m heading to the jungle for three nights. we went and bought hammocks at a market to have a place to sleep because we´re going to camp. everyone drives motorcycles here and little motor taxi things that are super cute...but noisy as hell. anyways i´m doing well and will be incomunicado for the next 10 days. i´m doing the jungle thing that taking a boat south to pucallpa then a bus to lima. i may not be showering anytime soon and here, its so humid i want to shower once an hour. so, bottom line, mosquitos not so bad, alligator yummy, jungle looking pretty damn cool, i´m doing well and starting to smell rather gross.

I cannot wait to hear about the jungle adventure. I got really behind in reading the blog, so my apologies.
Hope you're doing super well!
